Do acuvue color contacts work well?
I have brown eyes and i’m thinking about getting the jade green or pearl grey color contacts from acuvue. I was wondering if anyone who has brown eyes and has used these contacts liked them. Do they look real? Can people tell they are contacts? Fill me in please.
Any brands of colored contacts that you buy are going to look somewhat fake for the most part, because the lenses are dot matrixed with paint. Opaque colors (for dark eyes) are always more vibrant because your trying to “hide” or blend in your natural eye color. I’ve been in the optical industry for 15+ years and have worn colored lenses for about 20 years. I have tried almost every color available, and the most natrual-looking colors (IMHO) would be Freshlook Colorblends or Freshlook Colors. In the Colorblends, some look fake while others don’t. I only wear the Blue because they look very natural on me. In the Freshlook Colors, I wear Hazel and Green because they look extremely natural on me, while the other 3 available colors look fake. It just depends on the color pigments in your iris (and your skin and hair color) as to how the colors will look. I can’t wear Acuvue Colours because they’re too small and too tight of a fit. Although, I have seen the Pearl Gray and it’s a nice color. You honestly need to try them on (through your doctor’s office) first before ordering. Pearl gray may look great on your friend, but they may not look good on you!
