CALAMITY
Like a flower in the warmth of the morning light,
And dew drops that rest upon its delicate petals,
As the sun sips drinking on the tiny glistening beads of moisture,
So fragile and so exposed,
Oak tree standing tall and sturdy to cast his shadow over the land
To provide shelter, shade and protection
To be glanced upon with amazement all the while being left alone to brace the cold, the wet, the heat and the dark.
Like the presence of a virgin child,
Soft and pure, where her innocence is the aphrodisiac
So very rare, so very exquisite’
Creation leads us to ponder a purpose – which sum will never find
Lightning strikes to scar the tree and leaves are falling to the ground
That once dainty flower now trampled upon without a second thought
The Virgin Defiled – Our life –Complicated, Tainted, Blackened and Scorched.
